Episode 9: The Rain, The Jet, and the Gluten-Free Pretzel

It was pouring the kind of sideways Boston rain that makes even the geese reconsider their flight plans. I pulled the Luxe Suburban up to Terminal B at Logan Airport, windshield wipers putting in overtime, suit crisp, and the cabin smelling like fresh leather and eucalyptus wipes — because luxury shouldn’t smell like Febreze.

Out came the clients: a young couple from Andover with two kids and what looked like a portable jungle gym folded into a designer stroller. The mom clutched a bag of gluten-free pretzels like it was TSA gold. The dad nodded at me with the exhausted eyes of a man who had spent $13.99 on airport water.

“Mr. Carrero?” he asked.

“Black Car Bain,” I nodded. “Need a ride?”

“We’ll be outside,” I added with a smirk.

As I loaded the bags, the mom asked if we had a car seat. I gave her the Luxe nod and popped the rear door — one car seat and one booster, both professionally cleaned and pre-installed like we actually care about your child’s spine (because we do).

We cruised down 93 North. I adjusted the music to a soft instrumental playlist titled “Mom's Relaxation Mode,” and handed the kids complimentary bottles of spring water. The rain thumped against the windows, but inside the Luxe bubble? Silence, comfort, and a dad visibly considering a nap he hadn’t earned yet.

Before we reached Baleia on the water— their dinner destination in Boston — the mom turned to me and said, “This is better than flying first class.”

I smiled in the rearview.

At Luxe, we’re not just about getting you there. We’re about making the journey better than the destination.
